have you tried a woodway?

The second floor Wang YMCA cardio room now sports two Woodway treadmills. These treadmills supposedly allow the user to power them while they are in dynamic mode. I tried this today to no avail. Have any of you ever successfully used a Woodway treadmill?

no, but that sounds like a sweet energy saving deal!

In order to put a Woodway treadmill in "dynamic mode" the treadmill must be powered up, but at zero miles per hour and 0% incline. Once at this setting hold the “fast” and “slow” buttons down for 5 seconds. Once in dynamic mode the speed will start flashing. then increase the incline to reduce the resistance to a point that you are running. For me that is somewhere around 11% (I am 5' 11" 165lbs.) This degree of incline will vary based on size of person and style of running. It takes a while to find the right incline and once you are close only minor changes will move you from walking to running. To get out of "dynamic" mode on a Woodway the belt needs to be at rest and then push the speed up. the speed indicated should stop flashing. Make sure you do this before leaving the treadmill so the next person has it in traditional operation.

Hope this helps... Woodway- Eric.
