Yearning and yawning for a jog

Does anyone run at the crack of dawn or after they are extremely tired from coming home from work? I find it nearly impossible to do either, so I reserve running for the weekends, as a social activity. I also ran to the bus stop today and realized that my lungs were heaving. It was a sign that I'd lost a lot of ground since summer.

With those two, I prefer running after work. I'm wary of running in my neighborhood (which is gentrifying but not as safe-feeling was I would like yet) so I usually force myself to run at least a couple miles on the treadmill at the gym before going home.

I'm a bad case study, since I work part-time and can therefore pretty much run whenever I want (and sometimes get paid to do it).

That said, I tend to prefer to get up early and get it done; it means it's out of the way, but also makes me feel strong, accomplished, and energized. If you allow yourself an extra hour for a cup of coffee and some wake-up time, it can really help.

Then again, I have really enjoyed running in the evening lately (hence all the reflective stuff).
